Great Facilities

“Architecture begins to matter when it brings delight and sadness and perplexity and awe along with a roof over our heads.”

Paul Goldberger –
Architect and Author, Why Architecture Matters

Every child deserves a great place to learn. This initiative brings educators and great architects together to promote learning communities. As school districts slash budgets, funding for facilities declines. Public schools, especially charter schools, are being housed in warehouses, store fronts, strip malls and portable structures. Some recently constructed schools look more like prisons than elementary schools. In contrast, we believe an aesthetically pleasing, "green" environment highlights the mission of the school, stimulates creativity, fosters a sense of belonging, showcases student achievement, and promotes community support of learning.
